*Repairing a Window Screen*

Sagging and torn door or window screens make the entire house look run down.(photo1)But they are easy and inexpensive to fix with a few simple tools. Take a ride to your local hardware store and pick up a screening tool, the type of screenyou need, a razor knife, and a roll of spline material.

Remove the old spline and screen.

Cut a new piece of screen a couple inches larger on all four sides

Use the convex wheel of the screening tool to push the screen into the channel.

Cut a piece of spline material a little longer than you need. Using the concave end of your screening tool to push the spline into the channel over the screen. To make it a little easier stretch the spline material as you push it into the channel.

Reinstall your screen and trim off the excess with a razor knife.
